St John’s wort has been evaluated in a number of clinical trials and has been shown to be well tolerated, resulting in very few side effects, predominantly gastrointestinal upsets. St John’s wort has been used historically to help manage anxiety and stress.
Directions
Adults: Take ONE tablet morning and evening.
An improvement is usually seen within 1 to 2 weeks of starting Remotiv, though it may take 2 to 4 weeks to achieve the full effect. Remotiv is recommended for a minimum of 4 to 6 weeks and ongoing therapy may be appropriate.
Ingredients
Each Remotiv tablet contains extracts equivalent to dry:
Hypericum perforatum herb 1.375g
Contains lactose. Gluten free.
Precautions
Do not take Remotiv with prescription medications for depression because they have a similar mechanism of action and may interact adversely with each other.
Some preparations of St John’s wort may decrease the effectiveness of other medications because they contain high amounts of an agent called hyperforin. Remotiv however contains a very low amount of this interactive agent (which is consistently low from one batch to another).
