Who is eligable for the COVID-19 vaccine?

Also, due to emerging evidence of a rare clotting disorder associated with the AstraZeneca vaccine, the Pfizer vaccine is preferred in adults aged under 60 years. Adults under 60 years of age may still choose to receive the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine if the benefits of vaccination outweigh the risks. As new evidence emerges, these recommendations may change.
What side effects do COVID-19 vaccines have?
Like all vaccines, the COVID-19 vaccines do have some side effects. The most common side effects are reactions at the injection site (redness, swelling and/or pain) and more general reactions (fever, fatigue, headache, muscle aches and pains). These side effects are most common in the 48 hours after vaccination. i The Astra-Zeneca vaccine has also been associated with a rare clotting disorder, therefore, the Pfizer vaccine is preferred in people aged under 60 years. What is the AstraZeneca/ University of Oxford vaccine?
The AstraZeneca/University of Oxford vaccine is approved for use by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) for those aged 18 years and over. It requires 2 doses, 4-12 weeks apart.i The AstraZeneca/University of Oxford vaccine is highly effective at preventing death and severe illness among people who contract COVID-19. The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) recommends this vaccine in adults aged over 60 years of age as the benefits are believed to outweigh the risks. Adults under 60 years of age may still choose to receive the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine where the benefits of vaccination outweigh the risks for that individual. What is the Moderna Vaccine?
The Moderna vaccine is the second mRNA vaccine that the Australian Government has committed to through an advance purchase agreement.
