What is the most craved-for food in autumn? Pumpkins! We can roast them, bake them and make delicious soups.  Here’s 5 more reasons why we should all have pumpkins for dinner tonight.

1.  Pumpkins contain potassium which is important for water balance, maintenance of blood pressure and much more.
2.  Pumpkins contain vitamin A which is essential for the normal function of the eye, particularly to adapting to darkness.
3.  Each pumpkin has about 500 seeds.  Pumpkin seeds are high in iron which is essential for transporting oxygen in blood.
4.  Pumpkins are high in fibre with around 3grams per cup.  Fibre helps keep our digestive system healthy.
5.  Pumpkins are 90% water, making them low calorie.  One cup of pumpkin has 83 calories and only half a gram of fat.  Sweet potato has 3x the calories!
