Tips on Storing Your Medications Out of Reach from Children

Did you know that poisoning is one of the most common childhood injuries in Australia?  In NSW, more than 500 children are admitted to hospital every year due to poisoning from products found around the home.  Children aged 1 to 3 years are at most risk of accidental poisoning with hospitalisation due to medications occurring most in children aged 2 years.  With every family having at least one medication at home, it is extremely important that medications are stored safely out or reach from children.  This includes the storage of the most basic household medication, paracetamol, which in fact, was the cause of most hospitalisations due to medications in 1 to 2 year old children.  Here are 6 tips on how to store your medications safely out of reach from children.
